A Cutler/Discount Double Feature

Sully and Josh have a multiple record setting episode in total length as well as number of songs performed.  After discussion of The Scene with details of Creation Tuesday, Blues Revival Wednesday, Chachi and the Eleventh Island Band, Viral Sound, Spogga and Sauce, and finally Relative Souls and Funkatronic, the gents are joined by Mark Cutler.  Mark played five tracks for the Green Room including, "Wrecking Ball," "Come Out to the Woods With Me," "I'm Just a Paycheck Away," Can't Give it Away," and "Lonesome Pain."  Later, joined by Senior Discount who played their entire seven song acoustic set, complete with trash can drum kit the Green Room enjoyed "Smile," "Three Little Birds," "And That's Goodbye," "A Thinly Veiled Cry for Help," "I've Got a Feeling," "Nothing's Left," and "Paper Planes."  The boys do a quick rundown of Tunes Around Town coming up this week before wrapping up with a mention of what's in store for next week.

Sibling Face-melters

Sully, Josh and Rene discuss a bunch of fantastic shows from the week, including Creation Tuesday, Chris Moon, Bess Rogers, Leilia Broussard, Allison Weiss, Blueswolf, Shane Manzi and the Red Hot Blues, Jacob and the House of Fire, Dan Mills, Jay Berndt, Joe Fletcher, Chris Fullerton and Santa Mamba.  VulGarrity visited the studio today and we all had a great chat then brought the heat with the performance.  Then the guys discuss the myriad upcoming Tunes Around Town

A CD Release and a Folky Lass

Sully and Josh discuss this week's happenings on the scene including Creation Tuesday, Barefoot Truth and Adam Ezra Group, Spogga and A*Live Fridays, as well as Dennis Emsley's CD Release party and Foxtrot Zulu.  Allysen Callery joins the gents in the green room for a quick question and answer section, and had the chance to play six songs, "Pea Green Boat," "Spare Parts," "In the Pines," "Ring Around the Moon," "One Eyed Cat," and "The Azores Song."   As usual the guys wrap up with a discussion of all the Tunes Around Town this week!

A Taste of Turkey

Sully ran the show solo this week.  After a quick run down of Creation Tuesday with Chackulla, The Chris Dale Trio, The Grass Gypsys, Royal Jelly, Spogga, and members of The Effective Dose Sully was joined by Roz Raskin and the Rice Cakes.  The Rice Cakes discuss their upcoming EP and release show and play four songs for the Green Room, "Yellow Fields," "Zabudabudee," "Reindeer Tracks," and "Search for Violent Hills."  The performance was followed by a quick run down of upcoming shows. A short episode overall, running about 36 minutes.

The Green Room was a little short staffed this week so Sully was joined by Dennis Emsley as co-host. Normally the silent sound engineer, Dennis stepped to the mic to provide help with banter and band input. Josh Grabert of the Gamblin Hands ventured to the studio for the normal interview and performance, but sat in on all sections of the show, providing input and asking a few well timed questions. Josh plays six of his originals for the Green Room, “Saint Peter,” “Take My Soul,” “Brow Street,” “Life on a River,” “K Dubbs and AQ,” and “Its a Feeling.”

Josh and Sully quickly discuss the happenings on The Scene this past week before being joined by Jay Berndt and Dan Mills, two very different songwriters.  They speak with Jay first who plays four songs from his upcoming release "Sad Bastard Songs;" "Nameless," "Black, Tan and Wasted," "Different Things," and "Considering Taking My Life."  Dan Mills follows and talks about his album "Fiction in Photographs," as well as a couple of upcoming shows on his calendar.  He follows suit with four songs as well "Bernadette," "Rhody Girl," "Some Things," and "Just As Scared."  After the guest double feature, the gents run down the long list of Tunes Around Town for this upcoming week!

Sully and Josh discuss last week's shows including Creation Tuesday, Providence Promotion's Blues Revival featuring Shane Manzi and Friends, Zach Deputy, and SEXCoffee's comeback show featuring For The Love of Sloane and Pistol Shot Gypsy, complete with after-party featuring VulGarrity and Rounding Off Numbers. The gents are then joined by G. W.
